Become a Board Member

Join the NAMI McLeod County Board! The board meets once a month. Bring your ideas to help individuals living with mental illnesses in McLeod County. The board helps to bring community members access to support groups and educational events provided by NAMI Minnesota. We seek to have a balanced board of community members living with mental illnesses, family members and providers. The time commitment is estimated to be an average of 2 hours a month.

State Legislative Advocacy
The legislative committee is a volunteer group of those living with mental illnesses as well as their families-working to influence legislation and public policies that affect the lives of children and adults living with mental illness, their families, and the professionals who care for them. The Legislative Committee meets monthly and is always looking for more volunteers to help in achieving their vision.

Connections Support Group Facilitator
Connections is a support group for adults 18 or older living with mental illness. 

Family Support Group Facilitator
​Family support groups provide ongoing support for families and friends of persons living with mental illness. ​

Partner & Spouse Support Group Facilitator
​This group is for spouses, domestic partners, and significant others of a person living with mental illness.

We are looking for support group facilitators to serve our diverse communities! If you are bi-lingual, belong to a church, are a veteran or from the LGBTQIA+ community please fill out the form below to learn how we can get your group started!

All NAMI support groups are led by trained co-facilitators who have lived experience with mental illness. 
Groups provide a welcoming, safe, judgment-free space to share challenges, successes, and learn from one another.
Nationally recognized evidence based, peer to peer training provided through NAMI MN.
